Before treatment - Topical anaesthetic will be applied for 15-30 minutes prior to the treatment to make the area numb.

The procedure - The dermal filler is injected at precise locations into your top and bottom lip. The nurse will then massage to smooth the product. During the procedure, you are fully awake.

Post treatment - Avoid applying makeup over the injection sites for 12 hours. This is to reduce the small risk of skin infection. Specific post treatment instructions will be given to you on the day of your treatment.

The result generally lasts between 6 to 12 months. The longevity of these products is variable and each individual may obtain a different result. A plan for regular follow-up treatments to maintain the initial result can be created for you. Our treatment provides a long-lasting but not permanent result.

Post treatment, there may be some tenderness, redness and swelling to the site, this is very normal and will subside, usually within a few days.

For Lip Enhancements we use Restylane products. It subtly enhances the fullness of the lip body and adds definition to the border to create soft, natural looking lips. Lips appear revitalized as wrinkles are filled out and also become soft and supple. It is created with Optimal Balance Technology to enhance volume and definition with long lasting results for the lips compared with other fillers. Restylane Kysse is clinically proven to last for 6-9 months, and some effects have also been seen at 12 months. The unique cross-linking of the hyaluronic acid gel in Restylane Kysse has been specially developed for the treatment of sensitive lips. The hyaluronic acid-based gel softly integrates into the sensitive lip tissue and has been proven to cause little swelling. It contains local anaesthetic lidocaine for improved comfort during treatment.

Bruising is the most common complication of treatment. You can reduce bruising by applying ice; it is ok to cover up bruising with concealer/makeup the next day. It is very normal for lips to swell post treatment, but this will subside within 1-2 days.

Lips are very sensitive, so we apply a local anaesthetic before your treatment to numb the area. There may still be some discomfort, if this is too great inform your nurse practitioner who will look to ease this as much as possible.
